The Hero Dubai Desert Classic Drives Sustainable Golf

The Hero Dubai Desert Classic (HDDC) has become the first golf event in the Middle East and first within the DP World Tour Rolex Series to achieve GEO Certified® Tournament status, demonstrating the event's leadership among sustainable golf events.
The distinction is awarded and assured by the international non-profit GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf. It is based on the strength of commitment, breadth and depth of action, and the range of tangible, measured impacts across a broad sustainability agenda.
Obtaining GEO Certified® status is a notable achievement showcased by many of the world’s most renowned golf venues and events, and HDDC continues to set the standard in the region.
As part of its ongoing sustainability efforts, dedicated workshops will take place during the event offering visitors of all ages fun and engaging activities to deepen their understanding of the environment and the importance of preserving the planet.
In addition, high-quality filtered water dispensers — provided by Liquid of Life and Al Laith — are available around the venue. Visitors are always encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, supporting the Dubai Can initiative aimed at reducing single-use plastic bottle waste.
These efforts fall under the Hero Dubai Desert Classic’s ‘Go For the Green’ initiative, which promotes eco-friendly practices and reinforces the tournament’s long-standing commitment to sustainability.
To further support the cause, visitors are encouraged to travel by Dubai Metro, with Al Khail Metro Station located just outside the Club’s entrance.
